Fitted the side and lower hinges to the lower cowling and held in place with #40 holes and clecos. When everything is where it will finally be, I'll updrill to #30 and rivet.
Cut out the valve cover holes. The left side needed a cutout to clear the valve cover flange. The flange on the right side is recessed from the cowl surface, so that hole needs to be smaller. I cut the right lower side too big so I'll need to go back and make some glass repairs. I don't think I've cut a single fiberglass component that I won't need to go back and make repairs. Just not my medium I guess. I like working with the metal better. I doesn't itch.
